UiT – The Arctic University of Norway – is a medium-sized research university that contributes to knowledge-based development at the regional, national and international level. UiT’s study portfolio covers all classical subject areas from Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Education and Humanities, Science and Technology to Economics, Law, Social Work, Tourism, Sports and Fine Arts. This project will be related to the Department of Education, at the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education. The faculty offers over 300 subjects within humanities, social sciences and pedagogy, and over 40 bachelor and master programs
UiT is partner in the national research centre KINDknow (Kindergarten Knowledge Centre for Systemic Research on Diversity and Sustainable Futures) led from Western Norway University of Applied Sciences. UiT have provided programs in early childhood education and research activities for 50 years. Digital technology is central for the university’s strategies, and digital competence in education is defined as one of the main areas of focus. This project will mainly be related to the university-based research group Technology and Leaning. This research group conducts research on technology and early childhood education and have published extensive academic articles on the subject. The project representative has broad expertise on the subject of the project and is also a researcher in KINDknow (Kindergarten Knowledge Centre for Systemic Research on Diversity and Sustainable Futures), a national research centre in Norway.
