LUMSA – Libera Università Maria Santissima Assunta – is a non-state Italian university of Catholic inspiration. It is the second oldest university in Rome after La Sapienza: its history began with Luigia Tincani in 1939. LUMSA is part of the national university system and awards legally recognised degrees.
Preparation, growth, and future prospects, together with a focus on students as individuals, teaching, work, and research, are the distinctive features of the university.
